Since its foundation in 1980, the department has been devoted to “best care through the best research” by conducting clinical and basic research in various subspecialties － from common diseases like cerebrovascular disease and epilepsy, neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, neuroimmunological diseases such as multiple sclerosis, and neuromuscular disorders.
